Thanks for critiques. Like a lot of sketches I start this was done on so so paper and not intended to even be finished to the level it was. I think I will work on bristol board from here on out just in case I like a concept. Fortunately there is always the digital route.

kykyuen: sorry I did not get to your question the answer is yes. I googled Chinese parade dragons and the main figure was inspired by watching House of Daggers in which the lead actress (a very compelling beauty) does a traditional (I think) dance scene. I wanted to do a Chinese Dragon (or at least my interpitation) for a while and while watching the movie the idea came to me.

Wow, fantastic sketch, I love the composition and depth to it. Very well put together. I'd love to see a finished version, or a 3D version. Simply amazing.

I really like the concept with the cloth turning into the dragon (or is it the opposite way?). The shading is smooth, even if I can tell the hatchlines of the pencil apart. Good job with the shading and highlighting too. I would also like to see a 3D version. Please let me know if you ever make one!
